What this means

The temporary one-month extension ended on 31 March 2026.

If your residence visa expired while you were outside the UAE, you cannot travel back to the UAE using the expired visa. In this case, you will need to submit a new visa application before you can return.

What this means

If your entry permit expires while you are outside the UAE, you will need to reapply for a new entry permit before travelling.

To proceed

• ✓ Submit a new entry permit request

Once you arrive in the UAE, our team will support you on priority with the remaining steps, including:

What this means

If your entry permit is still valid, we recommend travelling to the UAE before it expires so you can complete your visa process. Before making your travel arrangements, please check with your airline directly for the latest updates on flight availability and rebooking options.

If you are unable to travel before your entry permit expires, you may apply for an extension, provided your e-visa has at least 4 days of validity remaining at the time of application.

To apply for an extension

• ✓ Log in to RAKEZ Portal
• ✓ Submit an Entry Permit Extension request

Once approved, you will receive a copy of your extended entry permit, which will be valid for an additional 60 days.

What this means

If your visa has been cancelled and you have overstay fines while remaining in the UAE, please note:

• ✓ You may exit the UAE and settle the applicable overstay fines at the airport
• ✓ If you choose to remain in the UAE and apply for a new residence visa, the applicable overstay fines will still apply

What this means

If you have stayed outside the UAE for more than 6 months, you must obtain an entry permission approval from Immigration before travelling, provided your residence visa is valid for more than 30 days.

If your visa has less than 30 days validity remaining, you will need to cancel your visa and apply for a new one.
