MUNICIPALTY OF RAS AL KHAIMAH

Ras Al Khaimah Municipality handles tasks pertaining to land, ports and traffic departments, in addition to ensuring a clean environment free of contaminants and a decent life for members of the community. The Municipality provides services such as building permits issuance, consultants and contractors qualification, inspection, advertising, engineering supervision, and comprehensive investigation, among others.

MINISTRY OF INTERIOR

The Ministry of Interior runs a variety of functions on top of them are ensuring peace and security, organising and managing security and police forces, carrying out naturalisation and residency affairs, organising traffic on local and internal roads, and providing security and safety of premises and properties. It aspires to maintain order and security, eliminate crime, and contribute to the prevalence of justice and law.

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The Department of Economic Development (DED) is the government body entrusted to set and drive the economic agenda of the emirate of Dubai, UAE. The DED and its agencies develop economic plans and policies, identify and support the growth of strategic sectors, and provide services to domestic and international investors and businesses. They provide many services such as business protection services, consumer protection, legal affairs, and business registration and licensing.

DUBAI POLICE  

Dubai Police Force is an integral part of the UAE Police Force. Its mission is to improve the quality of life in the country by operating in accordance with the constitutional rights to enforce the law and maintain security and safety of the community and of everyone living in the country. It offers different services to individuals, institutions and tourists such as NOC, filling cases, diplomatic services details, tourist’s security, and licence of vehicles and drivers.

DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM AND COMMERCE MARKETING

Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is the principal authority for the planning, supervision and development of the tourism sector in the emirate. As part of its marketing role, DTCM plans and implements an integrated programme of international promotions and publicity activities. This programme includes exhibition participation, marketing visits, presentations and road shows, familiarisation and assisted visits, advertising brochure production and distribution, media relations and enquiry information services.

ENVIRONMENT AND PROJECTED AREAS AUTHORITIES

Environment and Protected Areas Authority is responsible for protecting the environment, the wildlife and its biodiversity. This happens through scientific research, setting appropriate policies to raise awareness, supporting the principle of sustainable development to preserve natural environmental resources, and by a guaranteed exploitation of natural resources to the benefit of the present generation without wasting the right of future generations.

RAS AL KHAIMAH POLICE

Ras Al Khaimah Police is committed to accomplishing and maintaining a safer community, thus making the UAE one of the safest countries in the world. RAK Police strives to provide high quality policing services to those who live, work and visit the emirate. The department offers myriad of services such as community policing services for the business and public sector, traffic services, vehicle licensing transactions and driving licences transactions.

ROADS & TRANSPORT AUTHORITY

Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is responsible for planning and providing the requirements of transport, roads and traffic in Dubai, and between Dubai and other emirates, neighbouring countries in order to provide an effective and an integrated transport system. RTA’s responsibilities include: buses, taxis, and inter-city transport, roads engineering, registration and licensing, marine transport, commercial ads on the right of way, roads beautification, roads and parking, and rail projects.

TELECOMMUNICATION REGULATORY AUTHORITY

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been established to manage every aspect of the telecommunications and information technology industries in the UAE.  TRA’s role focuses on two fields: regulating the telecommunications sector, and enabling government entities in the field of smart transformation.

ABU DHABI POLICE

Abu Dhabi Police is responsible for bringing about a safer society, maintaining stability, reducing crime and contributing to the delivery of justice in a way which secures and maintains public confidence. The department provides different services such as traffic, security and community services, as well as public safety and emergency, and supplier services.

FEDERAL AUTHORITY FOR IDENTITY AND CITIZENSHIP

Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) was established under the name "Emirates Identity Authority" to establish the Population Register and Emirates Identity Card Programme, which included recording personal and vital data for all population in the state and keeping them in electronic databases in coordination with the competent authorities. The authority issues Emirates ID Card for each individual, which can be used in all entities.

RAK EDUCATION ZONE

RAK Education Zone was established to supervise schools within the emirate. Since o 1980, seven managers were entrusted with the tasks of the Education Zone's management. They are responsible to promote the UAE K-12 educational performance, as well as investing in human capital to build a knowledge-based society while enriching citizenship values.

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT(RAK DED)

The Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development (RAK DED) was established to provide a variety of services relating to licences, commercial control and consumer protection with a view to provide many facilities to investors in the emirate. In addition, it provides a great deal of official data and statistics that serve all segments of the society either for studying the labour market and investment climate in the emirate or for specialised scientific research.

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (DED)

Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (DED) leads Abu Dhabi’s economic agenda through taking responsibility for achieving the objectives of the emirate’s economic development hub that focuses on creating a flexible and competitive environment for business, establishing an effective private sector and creating leading investment opportunities. The department aims to achieve economic development in the emirate, regulate economic and commercial affairs, and work for development of the same in the interest of the country.

NATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITY (NQA)

National Qualifications Authority (NQA) was established to develop and implement the Qualifications Framework for the Emirates, to meet the requirements of the social and economic development, and to contribute to the enhancement of vocational education and training quality in the country. The authority also aims to facilitate the transfer, shift and continuity of learning of individuals between different education and training pathways as well as build the authority’s institutional capability and capacity to ensure performance excellence.

RAS AL KHAIMAH TRANSPORT AUTHORITY

Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) was established in to develop and improve the infrastructure of the Ras Al Khaimah and the application of security and safety standards in the sector of passenger transport and transportation, as well as the expansion in the field of tourism and investment.

EMIRATES TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMPANY(Etisalat)

Emirates Telecommunications Company, known as Etisalat, provides all telecommunications and Internet services in the UAE. Etisalat is one of the leading Internet hubs in the Middle East as well as the largest carrier of international voice traffic in the Middle East and Africa and the 12th largest voice carrier in the world.

RAS AL KHAIMAH TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAK TDA) was established to develop and promote the Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism offering and infrastructure, both domestically and abroad. RAK TDA aims to achieve clear and specific objectives of developing a sustainable, competitive and competitive tourism sector in the emirate. It also focuses on increasing the number of visitors to the emirate, improving tourism revenues and providing more jobs by 2019.

DUBAI LAND DEPARTMENT (DLD)

Dubai Land Department (DLD) was founded to establish the most prominent real estate sector in the Middle East and in the world. DLD provides outstanding services to all its customers while developing the necessary legislation to propel the real estate sector in Dubai, organising and promoting real estate investment, and spreading industry knowledge.

THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF CIVIL DEFENSE (ADCD)

The General Command of the Civil Defence works on helping the UAE government achieve its vision of becoming one of the best countries in the world in the field of excellence and the services provided to the public. Its priorities focus on reducing injury, loss of life and property damage caused by fires, natural disasters and human emergencies. Among the services it offers are: distributor, agent and factory licence issuance; approval on safety and prevention systems maintenance contracts; and approval on architectural drawings.

ELECTRONIC GOVERNMENT AUTHORITY (EGA)

Electronic Government Authority (EGA) of Ras Al Khaimah was launched to transform Ras Al Khaimah’s society to an online community in all its aspects through the application of the latest technologies and integrated solutions and the use of comprehensive systems available for automating the work of all processes and systems of governmental IT and telecommunications departments (ICT). The EGA provides centralised services to the government departments in the emirate in the following areas: technical project management, technical services management, training programs, and e-services.
