During the event, representatives from the Ras Al Khaimah Customs, Civil Defence and Immigration departments presented the operating models, policies, and recent regulations introduced by their respective entities.

RAKEZ Group CEO, Ramy Jallad said, “As a key link between thousands of companies and government authorities, we know the importance of having an open dialogue between all stakeholders and the event successfully managed to do that. This session gave business owners the opportunity to directly put forward any concerns or share their feedback with the policymakers, which will help them better understand the government’s vision and support and be future-ready.”

Amna Ali Al-Jadi Al-Shehhi, Director of the Customs Affairs Department, RAK Customs elaborated on their updated policies, procedures and e-services in line with the legalities; import and export tariffs based on the category of goods; privileges and exemptions; security aspects; and storage, disposal and transfer of products.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs representatives included Captain Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Mahmoudi, Director of the Customer Happiness Centre, Captain Ahmed Saleh Al-Tunaiji, Head of the Establishments Registration Department and Assistant Muhammad Jassim Karam. They explained the main features of UAE's Golden and Green visas, the advantages and eligibility criteria for entrepreneurs, employees and their family members.

Similarly, Captain Omar Matar Ali, Civil Protection Branch Manager, Civil Defence, spoke about the latest procedures of accident prevention and safety system for industrial business operations and the services that fall under it, including inspections and the issuance of various permits and safety certificates.

The attendees found the session highly informative and were happy to speak with the presenters from different entities. Sales and Admin Manager of Eurocap, a plastic packaging manufacturing company, P. Haridas shared, “We loved the fact that the government officials were focused on client-centric solutions. Our main takeaway was learning that the authorities have simplified their online systems to make it easy for us to access their e-services. We got a chance to clear our doubts face-to-face with people concerned and hope similar sessions are held in the future as well.”

RAKEZ will be hosting more sessions this year to help entrepreneurs directly connect with the authorities and strategic partners that create and regulate the laws concerning their businesses.
