RAKEZ receives British Consul General to Dubai in its headquarters

Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has recently welcomed His Excellency Andrew Jackson, British Consul General to Dubai, to its premises to showcase the nurturing environment offered by the economic zone to UK investors.

The British Consul General was received by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of RAKEZ. They engaged in a fruitful discussion highlighting the latest developments in Ras Al Khaimah as well as how the various government organisations in the emirate are supporting this growth.

Moreover, HE Andrew Jackson was also introduced to RAKEZ’s wide-ranging solutions for global investors, which include the economic zone’s state-of-the-art facilities, premier services in a one-stop shop, simplified and fast-track set-up processes, and specialised zones, among others.

Today, RAKEZ is home to over 14,000 companies – of which, more than 1,000 businesses are from the United Kingdom (UK). The UK Government’s Department for International Trade reported that there are over 5,000 British companies operating in the UAE. Hence, this shows that 20% of British companies in the UAE have chosen set up shop in RAKEZ.

Among RAKEZ’s British success stories are: Ahmad Tea, a tea producer; Kelly Steel Engineering, a structure and structural steel manufacturer; Spatial Composite Solutions, an aircraft cabin simulator manufacturer; and Vesuvius, an insulation material manufacturer.
