A Non-Sponsored ID Card in the UAE is an identity card for individuals who are not sponsored by a company but wish to work while keeping their visa under their family sponsorship.

Types of Non-Sponsored ID Card:
- Golden/Green Visa Holders: Individuals holding a valid UAE Golden/Green Visa.
- GCC Nationals: Citizens of Gulf countries
- Dependent Visa Holders: Spouse and children sponsored by family members

  • Copy of valid UAE residence visa (exceeding the duration of card requested)
  • Recent Passport-sized color photo with white background
  • Academic qualifications (if required).
  • Limited Employment Contract (English & Arabic) , signed by both parties and stamped by the company — must match the requested card duration (View Template)

Additional Documents (Dependent Visa Holders Only)

  • NOC from the Sponsor.
  • Passport copy of the Sponsor with a valid UAE residence visa (valid for more than duration of the requested card).

Allocation of Non-Sponsored ID cards based on the facility type

  • The company must maintain a valid trade license.
  • No Outstanding Dues: The company must not have any previous unpaid balances.
  • Applicants must not hold an existing full-time job from any other Company.
  • Process starts only upon receiving all the required documents and payment.
  • For Employees: Issuance of an E-RAKEZ ID Card and an Employment Certificate.
  • For Shareholders: Only the E-RAKEZ ID Card will be issued (no Employment Certificate).
  • Request for renewal must be submitted before the contract has ended.
  • The cancellation request must be submitted once the contract has ended.
  • Non-Compliance Penalty: A violation fee of AED 1,500 will be imposed if an employee is found working without RAKEZ approval or an extension approval.
  • Employer’s Responsibility: Ensure a safe working environment and comply with all legal regulations.
  • Employee’s Obligation: Follow workplace rules and perform duties responsibly
