A Temporary Work Permit allows employees to work for another company inside or outside RAKEZ while maintaining their existing visa.

Types of Temporary Work Permits:

      1. Working inside the Free Zone
      For employees doing temporary work within RAKEZ Free Zone areas.
      2. Working outside the Free Zone
      For employees of RAKEZ-registered companies who need to work temporarily outside the Free Zone (e.g., on a client site or external project).

Required Documents

For RAKEZ employees working temporarily for another RAKEZ company. Required Documents:

  • Passport copy with a valid UAE residence visa (passport must be valid for more than 6 months and residence visa exceeding the duration of the requested permit).
  • Limited Employment Contract (English & Arabic) , signed by both parties and stamped by the company — must match the requested permit duration (View Template)
  • NOC from the current employer (RAKEZ company).

For mainland employees working temporarily for a RAKEZ company, Required Documents:

  • Passport copy with a valid UAE residence visa (passport must be valid for more than 6 months and residence visa exceeding the duration of the requested permit).
  • Academic qualifications (if required).
  • Limited Employment Contract (English & Arabic) , signed by both parties and stamped by the company — must match the requested permit duration (View Template)
  • NOC from the mainland employer.
  • Establishment card of the current mainland company.

Terms & Conditions

  • Visa Status: Hold a valid UAE employee visa issued by MOHRE or a Free Zone.
  • Active Trade License: Company’s license, Immigration file and E-channel registration must be valid.
  • No Outstanding Dues: The company must not have any previous unpaid balances.
  • Not eligible for Companies with “0” visa package.
  • Non-Compliance Penalty: Violation fee of AED 1,500 will be imposed if an employee is found working without RAKEZ approval or an extension approval.
  • Employer’s Responsibility: Ensure a safe working environment and comply with all legal regulations.
  • Employee’s Obligation: Follow workplace rules and perform duties responsibly.
