RAKEZ industrial solutions attract F&B players at Gulfood Manufacturing 2018

Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has returned to Gulfood Manufacturing for the third consecutive year. Running from 6–8 November, RAKEZ is currently engaging with food and beverage (F&B) investors in Dubai World Trade Centre to share the benefits of setting up a manufacturing base in its cost-effective industrial ecosystem.

RAKEZ’s previous Gulfood Manufacturing participations have gained the interest of nearly 200 event attendees – a number that is expected to increase this year due to its exclusive Gulfood industrial set-up offer of up to 25% off. Presently, RAKEZ has a total of more than 600 F&B companies including industrial players.

“Gulfood Manufacturing is a perfect platform for us to connect with manufacturers and traders in the field of F&B,” said RAKEZ Group CEO Ramy Jallad, adding that “the exhibition has brought us several F&B companies in the past years, like ProArgi Middle East for example, which trades food and beverage products.”

Commenting on the F&B opportunities in the GCC, Jallad said: “The opportunities for F&B companies in the region are endless. This is especially if we factor in the GCC’s growing population, which is projected to increase by 61.6 million by 2022. There will be a greater demand for food, and our goal is to support F&B businesses in ensuring food security in the region. We have a range of solutions to help them successfully expand their operations to the UAE, from our quick and easy set-up processes to customisable warehouses for product storage and assembly, and land for manufacturing facility construction. With RAKEZ being in Ras Al Khaimah, F&B businesses benefit from lower operating and living costs, as well as the proximity to key logistical advantages such as container ports, international airport and multi-lane superhighways that connect to the rest of region.”

Over the years, RAKEZ’s industrial zones have been serving as a manufacturing base for F&B giants, such as: Unikai Foods, one of the largest Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) conglomerates in the Middle East and North Africa region; Von Gysenstein Swiss Chocolatiers, a Swiss chocolate manufacturer; Al Marai, an Arabian dairy manufacturer; Italfood, an artisan cheese manufacturer; Ahmad Tea, a global tea producer; and Hesburger, one of the largest food chains in Northern Europe.
